How Well Do Pro Golfers Know The Rules?

In the wake of the most recent golfing rules miscue—Villegas’ disqualification in Hawaii—this Rocco Mediate quote is very interesting:

How well do the players know the rules?

“On a scale of 1 to 10, probably a 5,” Rocco Mediate said. “And that’s being nice.”

Not good.

I agree, most players do not understand the rules of golf very well.

Has anybody mentioned his caddie.
sometimes I start to think that people do these things for attention.(meaning they want to break the rules)
