A golfer in Nevada accidentally started a wildfire when his clubs created a spark as he tried to get out of the rough.

I have wondered if this was possible or not. Wish I had read this before last Sunday when I punched my ball off some embedded stones on some dry ground. I used my old 6-iron because I didn’t want to scratch one of my new clubs (I was playing a scramble with my dad, so I had an old set for him)—and I put a could decent scratches on the 6-iron. Now I know I should have moved it to a non-gravely spot for the safety of the course and the homeowners nearby.
