Golf Tip: Lowering Your Ball Flight

Golf Columnist John Ferguson offers tips on keeping your ball flight down—and explains why you might want to do so.

In short, the key is keeping the ball a little further back in your stance, or to keep your hands forward and lower throughout the swing. Either of these has the effect of “de-lofting” the club. That is, keeping your hands forward flattens the face angle of the club.

This is especially good advice for Michigan golfers in the spring, where wind is a constant function.
