Golf Knickers
I really want a pair of these, but don’t know if I’d have the guts to actually wear them on a course.
Especially on the blue collar courses I play around here.
Maybe I’ll get a pair for my permanent Halloween costume. I already have a black old-style golf cap. I may get the plus fours in black.

Buy them! They’re a very traditional piece of golf attire. They do tend to be somewhat expensive for the number of times they’ll be worn, but if that’s not an issue wear them proudly. I have certain outfits that are accepatable on the course, but are not what I would normally wear out.

I know of one person who regularly wears plus fours to our senior tournaments. He seems to have a number of these outfits and he looks pretty good. Then he starts playing.
Personally, before I start wearing an outfit that yells “look at me”, I want to have the game to go with it. However, if you enjoy standing out in a crowd, then go for it.

If you don’t want to pay the big $$$ for a snappy pair of knickers, go to the Goodwill golf boutique in your area and get the baggiest pair of dress pants in your waist size. Then put ‘em on, measure where you want the bottoms to blouse. Next subtract the calf circumference from the pants circomference at that point. Split that difference between the two seams and then add that to the length. Now for the cuff you can either go with elastic, (easy), or a fancier button-type. I had two pair made this way for under $35 and they get compliments at my muni course. I wear ‘em for fun and to bring a little nostalgic class to the game. Look for George brand argyle knee length sox, (Walmart, two pair for @$5), also had matching driver hats for cheap. Saddle type golf shoes and a sleeveless argyle sweater over a collared golf shirt will complete the package. You’ll be stylin’!
