Golf Games: Thirty Two

October 6, 2010

Thirty Two (3-2) is a putting side bet. On any putt, a player can invoke the 32 against his opponent. If the opponent three putts or worse, he owes 2 units of the bet. If he two putts, the challenger owes three units of the bet. A “unit” typically is a dollar, but could be any amount.

So, on a long putt, Sam calls a “32” on Bill. Bill three putts, so he owes Sam two dollars. On the next, Bill calls one on Sam. Sam makes two, so Bill owes Sam three more.

The nice thing about this bet is that it’s an incentive to make two putts. In a very friendly version, you might limit the number of challenges per side.
