Cobra Baffler DWS

June 18, 2007

At a demo day last week, I had a chance to try out a few Cobra clubs, including their Baffler hybrid. I wasn’t that impressed by Cobra’s driver or fairway woods, but very much liked the Baffler.  It sets up very nicely, and was quite effective using the same swing I use with an iron. I hit an entire bucket of balls, and didn’t mis-hit a single one.

The core technology here is the Dual Weighting System, which is designed to move the weight down and out—again, the holy grail of club design. A maraging face is supposed to offer more “hot spots,” and the sculpted sole is supposed to make it easy to hit from any lie.

Whatever. It works.
