Club Grip Tape
PRIDE GOLF TEE CO Softspikes Club Grip Tape
Here’s an interesting product. Pride Golf says that you use this tape to cover up old worn grips instead of regripping. It’ll provide enhanced tackiness and thus a better grip. But it’ll also make the grips larger. That might be ok for some, but I’ve got shortish fingers and generally stretch out my grips when regripping to give them a smaller diameter.

I can see where something like this might be worthwhile for the golfer who plays very few rounds a year and has grips dry rotting and cracking. They probably don’t need to spend $60-90 on regripping for the few rounds they play.
However, I play 80+ rounds a year, and either between my skin oils or the humidity here or something, the grips last well more than a year. I am thinking about regripping now, but it has been about 18 months, and really they are still pretty good after 120 rounds or so. These tape over grips probably would never last like that.
When I do regrip, it was worthwhile to learn to do it myself. I can try different grips and if one tears, I can redo that easily in 20 minutes (including setup and breakdown) in my workshop.
