Can Phil Take Number One?
Apparently after all the math is done, it boils down to this:
If Phil wins the US Open, he becomes the World #1.
If Phil finishes in a solo for 2nd, and Tiger finishes outside the top 4, Phil becomes the World #1.
If Phil finishes solo 3rd, and Tiger finishes outside the top 18, Phil becomes the World #1.
If Phil finishes in a 2-way tie for third and Tiger misses the cut, Phil becomes the World #1.
That’s a lot of pressure on Lefty.

It is ridiculous. So if Phil finishes 4th and Cheatah misses the cut, then Phil is still second to Cheatah? Granted, Tiger has barely carded enough rounds to even affect a USGA index at this point, if he hasn’t won since 2009 and performed like he has this year, he needs to drop.
