Callaway X-18R Irons
CALLAWAY X-18R Iron Set 4-PW, SW with Steel Shaft
Callaway Golf seems to be fighting back against the current economic downturn with its surprisingly affordable X-18R irons. Listing for $499 (relatively cheap for a new name-brand set of irons), the clubs are currently $100 off at Golfsmith.
The clubs have all of the expected Callaway technology, including Notch Weighting that redistributes weight to heel and toe and undercut channels to move the center of gravity down and back.
They’ve also got a more traditional shape and size, with a thinner topline and optimized sole.

This is a deal and a half. I have X-20s, but I am not sure there is as much difference between the X-18, X-20, and X-22s as there was between the X-14s and X-18s (I also have X-14s).

Yesterday evening, I purchased a set of the X-18s from Dick’s. I just returned from the driving range and have nothing but praise for these irons. My last set of irons were Cleveland’s and I loved them. I can easily see I will learn to love the X-18s just as much. The X-18s are forgiving and pack a punch, two things I need! Get ‘em, they’re fantastic
