Callaway FT-i Squareway Wood
CALLAWAY FT-i Squareway Wood with Graphite Shaft
Squareway Wood. Cute name.
Callaway’s “Squareway” design is supposed to position more discretionary weight to the corners of the clubhead, raising the moment of inertia for straighter, more forgiving shots. The club has a stainless steel face, sole and body with a lightweight carbon crown, allowing even more weight repositioning than the shape alone would allow. Callaway engineers have also made the clubhead oversized, for even more stability and accuracy.
If you can get over the odd shape, this might just be the thing for your fairway wood woes.

I am loving my Callaway X-Hot 3-wood which I believe is on closeout now. Bought mine used from Callaway Preowned, which is always a good deal. It is also oversized, and it is driver length (44"). When I can keep my pace good and slow, this thing fires that ball like a cannon.
Since my previous 3-wood was a Great Big Bertha, and until I got a gift certificate at Christmas, I didn’t see myself changing that club, I can’t see another 3-wood in my future for quite some time.
I thought the GBB was fantastic and couldn’t be beat for the warbird sole, but the two clubs don’t even compare. Both have Firm shafts and the same grip (all my clubs bigger than a pitching wedge have Ping Rapture NTS grips)- and the GBB shaft is shorter, but the X-Hot is just straight as an arrow and so long. I thought I would mishit it more often, but I hit it purer so much more often (and my confidence is up with it too).

When items like this come around I do like to look at them. I really don’t have a need to buy what’s out there as I have all of my clubs custom made. But I do like Callaway
