Bushnell Tour V3 Rangefinder

Bushnell Tour V3 Jolt Standard Edition Golf Laser Rangefinder

Right now, the Bushnell Tour V3 Rangefinder is 43% off list at Amazon. That’s $277, down from $466.

I highly recommend the use of a range finder of some sort on the golf course. While the vast majority of amateurs can’t take advantage of knowing whether a pin is 140 or 145 yards away, I believe that these devices impart a critical sense of confidence. If you know how far you hit your clubs (and are realistic about those distances), then having an accurate distance takes that little bit of doubt out of the equation. Confidence is everything in golf.

The big question for golfers is laser or gps? I had an early laser range finder model and was disappointed with it. It was tough to get a lock on the flagstick, and would give me three different readings on three different tries. Moreover, it absolutely ate 9 volt batteries for snacks. That led me to switch to GPS

Bushnell seems to have solved the lock-on issue with the Tour V3. This model vibrates when you get a lock, with something they call “Jolt” technology. It’s also got a Scan mode, which lets you get readings as you pan across the landscape.
