Brookstone Leather Money Clip Review

Leather Money Clip

Leather Money Clip

Grade: A

Ok. So this really isn’t about golf. But I’m in a mood to write about this ... and its my blog ... so here goes.

My dad always carried a huge leather wallet, with a lot of cards and pictures of the family, and receipts, ticket stubs, and so on. And so, I’ve always carried a similar wallet. Like father, like son.

But then I saw one of these leather money clips on a visit to Brookstone while my wife was getting clothes for the kids at Sears at the mall. And it occurred to me: Why the heck am I stuffing my back pocket with a leather monstrosity. The thing was a literal pain in the butt. After all, all I really need to carry is a single credit/debit card, my health insurance card and my drivers’ license. I know what my wife and kids look like, and no one has ever asked to see a picture of them—so the pictures could go. The whole receipt carrying thing is just stupid. I now keep a small file in my car to stuff them in.

So I bought a money clip. And its been one of the best moves I’ve ever made. It’s very slim, and in my front pocket, I don’t even notice that its there.

I used to take my wallet out of my pocket while playing golf and stuff it in my bag—couldn’t play with the pocket purse in there. Of course, that led to my leaving it in the club locker at the course several times.

I know its not a revelation to most of you out there. But I’m a little behind the times. If you’re like I was and still carrying around a legacy wallet from the ‘60s, its time to get a clip.

  • I have been using this type for 12 years now and will never go back to the other type. I have room for my cards and money anything else I want can go in the briefcase.

  • That’s a good money clip, but check out the Money Clamp at moneyclamp.com. It’s much easier to get bills in and out and holds more. I have tried every wallet and money clip out there and finally, they’ve solved the problem.

  • Have used leather money clip for years. Small, can fit everything that is necessary. Most people carry wallets with their whole identity, you loose it and you loose your identity.
