  • The author of that article apparently believes that that only acceptable outcome is for the Americans to win, even if the deck has to be stacked in their favor.

    Naive soul that I am, I like the event to be competitive.  Given that, the decision to include the rest of Europe with GB&I makes a lot of sense.  (2002 US population 280M; UK 60M; 2004 EU16 382M).

    I think that the Ryder cup has lost some of it’s charm due to so many of the Euros playing on the PGA tour.  Plus the Euros have two years to get primed for the Cup, whereas the Americans play every year at either the Ryder or Presidents Cup.
