Amateur Leads Travelers

The second round won’t be finished until Saturday, but Amateur Patrick Cantlay shot a ten under 60 to take a four point lead in the Traveler’s Championship. This is the same Cantlay who was low Amateur at the US Open last week, finishing in a tie for 21 He’s a FRESHMAN at UCLA, but says he plans to finish college.
Good decision.
The last amateur to win on Tour was Phil Mickelson in 1991 at the Northern Telecom Open.
