ABC Tries Three Man Booth

Here’s an article on ABC’s attempt to remake its golf broadcasts by creating a three man booth featuring Paul Azinger and Nick Faldo. What I find interesting is that both are active PGA Tour players—although neither is an every-week player, or highly ranked. I can’t see any middle ground on this. They’re either going to be very good, or incredibly vanilla. It would be great to have them give some insight into the tour that non-active players and announcers don’t have. On the other hand, the danger will be that they will be reluctant to criticize guys they might be playing with later in the season.

We’ll see after this weekend. ABC has the broadcast of the Buick Invitational.
