2006 Stories You Might Have Missed

SI’s Gary Van Sickle—whose writing I generally enjoy—has a column on the most overlooked golf stories of the year. I got a chuckle out of Item 12—the meltdown of the year. Van Sickle points out that had it not been for Phil, that title would have belonged to Greg Own for his three putt from five feet to lose the lead at Bay Hill. That one was all the talk on sports blogs for two weeks.
