Whiskey Creek 17
From the Whiskey Creek Golf Course in Ijamsville, Maryland.
The finishing hole, and a spectacular one. It’s a par five that a golfer can reasonably reach in two. From an elevated tee, you shoot down toward the ruined stone farm house in the center of the fairway. If you can draw it around the farmhouse, you have a chance. I took a fade to the right and then had to lay up short of the creek. It was then an an eight iron to the elevated green (which you can see on the left side of the photo, just beyond the pond and the bunkers). I fell short, pitched on and then had two putts for a six.
