I have tried everything, waxing,shaving,threading, u name it I've done it.
I used this product first time yesterday and it works miracles. Its much faster than waxing and gets even the tiniest hair out. the results are awesome... I would recommend this to anyone who has serious problems with hair growth. I was a little scared to use it, since alot of the reviewers said it hurts, and I admit it does, but just like waxing your body gets used to it after a few times.

I bought this epilator, and it's the first one I've ever used. I've had it for a few years, but I've been too intimidated to use more than the shaver attachment until recently. Let me say that it's fantastic! It does hurt...especially the first time you use it. I've never waxed or epilated before, so my hair was pretty thick and coarse, and it took a long time to get it all out. However, I did my calves about two weeks ago, and the hair is just now starting to come back in. I used it tonight to get rid of the little hairs that were starting to grow back, and it didn't really hurt at all! The rollers that are on one of the epilating attachments really help to numb your skin and make epilating less painful. I think this product is fantastic--it fits nicely in my hand, the built in light helps me see all the little hairs, the bonus shaver attachment is great--it's definitely worth the money!

This is the best thing ever! I highly recommend it. It doesn't hurt at all. I would wax the first time before you use it. Then a few days later use the epilator. I have used it all over with great results. There were a few hairs on my lip I continually tweezed, and I'm sure I was breaking them off not getting the root. Hence growing back quickly. Now the Silk epilator gets the root and they are slower to grow back and much thinner.
You do have to be careful about stretching the skin smooth in some areas. Under arms, behind knees, and lip area, but with practice you can do it. This epilator is so much better than the old ones. The light was a stroke of genius. Now when I epilate I only get a few hairs. It is well worth the money.

Wow... I really scored some points with my wife when I purchased this thing. She previously had another brand epilator that she seemed very happy with. It held up pretty good, but finally died after about 3 -4 years. She mentioned it to me so I took a look at it and it was truely beyond saving. I took it upon myself to save the day and checked out numerous different brands and models before selecting the Braun 5270 Silk-epil X'elle Body System Epilator for purchase. I was a little leary about doing this as my wife is sometimes hard to please, especially when it comes to buying her "lady-things". I got a pretty good price from Amazon.com and the order arrived in just a couple of days. She used it that night and the verdict came in and it was very positive. She told me it was so much nicer than her previous epilator and worked much faster. She remains thriller with it and I have benefitted from that in many way (of which I will not discuss on a public forum). Needless to say, I am giving this a five star rating. I think if my wife were writing this she would try to give it at least six stars. A very nice product that very much lives up to what it says it will do.

I bought an epilator years ago and was very disappointed. Last year I bought an "As Seen on TV" epilator and though it had one tweezer head, I could tell that the idea was good.
With no expectation, I bought this one. Background: I have a very hairy face. I'm not talking fine facial hair. Bleaching does no good--it just gives me white hair instead. Nair is useless, so my only alternatives are constant tweezing, shaving, waxing or epilating. I did the first three for decades.
I LOVE this epilator. Although some people don't like the little light, I find it helpful sometimes. Regardless, the actual tweezer heads are wonderful. Nothing is perfect, and I still have to use it more often than I would like, but that's the fault of my face--not the product.
My face is tough after years of waxing, so I notice minimal-to-no discomfort. I tried it under my arms and it definitely was painful and not worth it, so I'll stick to shaving there. Same with the bikini area (but I would try that again). For my face--it's fantastic. My under-chin area is finally touchable, as is the rest of my face. What I really like is that I can literally do it five minutes before leaving the house--and my face isn't red. If I were to tweeze, it would be.
I love it so much that I'm tempted to buy another "just in case" anything happens to it.
