3 out of 5 stars Ab Rocket   August 25, 2008
The purchase of this item was easy and shipping fast. I was under the impression that it was easier on the back, which it definitely isn't. So beware if your back isn't the greatest.

3 out of 5 stars It's Okay...   August 21, 2008
All right... I bought the AB ROCKET. Mine is not made out of plastic? I saw other people say it wasn't sturdy? Mine is made of metal and has some "Heft" to it. It's sturdy and solid... Anyway

I can't believe it will show results with only a 5 minute a day workout. I was able to put it together (and for me that's a miracle in itself). I watched the DVD and did the beginners exercise. I did feel the burn. The rollers are pointless. I was too concerned about breathing at the right time and making sure my head did not leave the headrest (I kept lifting my head) that I did not even notice/enjoy the free back rub. I think the more I use it and get used to the exercise routines, it'll get better. I was really impressed with the way my stomach felt just after the first five minutes. You can't use your hands to pull yourself up (no matter how tempting it is). If you listen to the girl on the DVD, you will be told how to sit and that you can't take your head off of the heardrest. That way you are using your abdomen to sit up and no other muscle groups. I didn't even want to see what the intermediate and advanced exercises were like (the beginners session was enough). I wouldn't recommend this product to someone over 6 feet tall and overweight. It's probably geared more towards people who just need something to motivate them to get toned. I can feel the burn, but if it actually will pay off in a year, ???? If you are already in shape and want to stay toned, it's wonderful. If you have a little tummy, like me, it may provide results (with a reasonable diet). I doubt this would work for anything more "serious". I don't regret buying it, as long as it shows results in time.

1 out of 5 stars Unbelievable waste of money   August 17, 2008

I ordered this product being swayed by the infomercial ad, but once I actually tried it out, I was highly disappointed. I found that even with the highest set resistance, the machine was too easy and I could not feel anything in my abs, and I am not even a person who works out. Also, I found that the back rest with the rollers was really uncomfortable on the back. The curve of the backrest does not actually sit well against the back, and I found that when I leaned backwards on the machine, my lower back was not making any contact with the back rest. The headrest is absolutely useless, not to mention awkward and uncomfortable becasue my head was touching it only half of the time. After trying the machine out for 5 minutes and feeling like I got no abdominal workout whatsoever, my back was the only thing that was sore and that felt "worked out". So I am going to be returning this thing for a refund and look around for a ab machine that actually works out the abs.

4 out of 5 stars good product, portable, simple to put together, easy to store   August 17, 2008

Bed, Bath & Beyond as well as Linens n Things sells this and I took one of those 20% off coupons they always send in the mail and got this for 79.99. Pretty easy to store and folds right up. Only a few steps to put together and great to just distract yourself while watching tv--feel more productive with your evening (I have).

2 out of 5 stars Flimsy   August 15, 2008

Ok, I tried and tried again to not fall for imfomercial products. The Ab Rocket feels like plastic. It is not sturdy at all, and it feels unsafe. Save your cash guys.
