 Continuing tale of the Ugly Shoe August 2, 2008

I believe I've already reviewed the Cayman... and how I would never wear them and couldn't figure out why they are so popular. Bought some on a (beer run) side trip while camping on a river and was ever so impressed how I could wear them in the water. And who would have thought this ugly (yellow) shoe could be so comfortable.
Shopping today for yet another pair (already have the flip-flops now) with my friend Kathy. Her shoe collection rivals that of Carrie Bradshaw and she wouldn't be caught dead in them. I purchased a red pair of these Mary Janes (opting to wear them out of the store instead of my trusty Burks), and I literally forced her to try them on.
She hesitantly did as I asked (under duress) and had to admit her surprise at how comfortable they are, but she did say they looked to big. Told her I would buy her a pair for her b-day and then she was ever so excited to find her signature pink in a pair of Caymans that fit her better. She also wore hers out of the store.
And I agree.... they don't 'fit' like regular shoes, but this doesn't matter to me as long as I have happy feet.
Again... these shoes ARE butt-ugly. And there's nothing exciting about the colors either, but if you want a practical summer shoe...esp good for beach and water please trust me and at the least get to a store that sells them and try them on. But don't be confused... there are a few types of knock offs that are comfortable, but the plastic (or whatever they are.... alien fabric?) is much softer.
And did I mention how picky I am? Took me years to try these shoes. And if Kathy will wear them, I think even Carrie Bradshaw has a pair or two.
AND if that weren't cool enough! They even have a website.... get this... you can recycle them!
I'm 56yrs old and that is my story.

These Mary Jane Crocs are very comfortable, and I can even get away with wearing them with dress slacks!

Very comfortable and more stylish than the regular crocs. Easy to slip on and off. Goes well with skirts as well. Quick delivery!!!

Already have another pair and I just LOVE them. Its just too bad the colors in this style are so limited! I will have to return these because in our Hospital we are only allowed Navy or White. I was so happy when I saw Pearl White!!! Well they arrived and they are Grey!!! Pearl or White NOT! They are Grey! Watch out for the color names! I am so upset!!

I have three pairs of the Mary Jane crocs. I personally think that these
are the most comfortable of the croc styles because my feet are on the narrower side. These are my "go to" shoes for dog walking and work.
I am a teacher so I'm on my feet all day. Although Crocs would probably cringe to hear this, I think I've got a secret to a "customized" fit. I find that new crocs are a little "floppy" to my liking even when I purchase the correct size. I had heard that Crocs shrink if they are left out in the heat. So, I put my crocs in
the oven to a low heat, and watch them carefully (taking them out every few minutes or so) and then trying them on until they shrink to my size.
I'm completely serious !
