Works great July 14, 2007 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
I tried to velcro the sensor to my shoe and it seemed stable but was completely inaccurate. Then I got one of these pouches and problem solved. Works perfectly.
Great product. July 14, 2007 I love my nike + ipod but don't wear nike shoes. I would recommend this to anyone that likes the shoes they are in but want to use nike+. Definately worth it!!!
Excellent product July 12, 2007 I received the shoe pouch promptly, so shipping on it was quick. It's well built and fits my shoes and is very unobtrusive. That being said, it works as advertised and keeps one from having to purchase Nike shoes just to sync it with an iPod.
Excellent product! July 8, 2007 I cannot commend the folks at Grantwood Technologies for making this incredible shoe-pouch for the Nike+ sensor. I bought it for my current running shoes as I did not, as many here, want to spend more money on shoes..."compatible" shoes. This little fella attaches to the laces and holds the sensor very securely.
The accuracy is, in no way, affected whatsoever. I ran on a treadmill to determine accuracy and was pleasantly surprised by the stellar results. The treadmill logged 0.42 miles and Nike+ logged 0.43 miles. The 0.01 differential was a result of my hitting the center button on my Nano a few seconds before starting the treadmill workout. You can't get better than that!
So, rest assured.
Good running!
Ipod Kit July 7, 2007 The shipper was very on the ball, but I found the fact you had to unlace all your shoe laces to put the darn thing on a bit of a pain, especially when you switch between more than 1 pair.
I do understand the rationale of of the issues with Velcro types accuracy,or not being snug to the laces, but I did not find this the case in either this product or the one by Marware.
As far security, I can understand where others have had the velcro pop open, I just have not. However, I also do not run in the wet elements, so this might occur in those environments.
So, for me I have decided to leave this one on 1 pair of shoes and the velcro on the other and just switch the chip from each holding case.
I do not find the accuracy in either any different, it is just a personal choice and my recommendation would be for each person to try these two out and decide for themselves. Both are good, in my mind.
