5 out of 5 stars Be Careful When Amazon Is The Seller!   March 5, 2007

Fine little anemometer. I have two thanks to Amazon. Have had good results when shopping from Amazon listed sellers...BUT, be careful when buying directly from Amazon. The first anemometer had a dead battery, a $5 item. So I CALLED Amazon. This is hard enough to do; Amazon's web pages say there is a phone number but I never found it. I went to a site that complained about Amazon to locate the phone number. Amazon's representative said a replacement battery could not be provided although he knew the batteries price. I could return the unit. I bought it because I wanted to use it, so I bought a battery. Amazon was to credit my account with the $5 which eventually they did. Then I received a second Anemometer with an invoice showing a cost of $0. I actually thought Amazon was correcting their original mistake in a very generous manner...WRONG! Silly me, I was eventually billed for a second anemometer. Amazon's emails do not address the problem. Apparently I'm to be inconvienced by their mistakes without any consideration. I'll still shop Amazon sellers, BUT, I WILL NOT BUY ANYTHING ELSE WHEN AMAZON IS THE SELLER. They have no idea of customer service.

5 out of 5 stars Having fun....   January 11, 2007

We live in what seems to be a wind tunnel. For years we've just relied on the news & weather channel for information but we got to the point that we want to know just HOW STRONG our winds are & what the actual wind chill is. This is a great little unit for just regular people. We're having fun. It didn't start up when I got it so I called the company. Immediately got a RMA# & returned it for inspection. Battery was dead. I had it back in less than a week after it had been checked out & they'd put in a new battery. Fun to have for us.

5 out of 5 stars Nice wind meter, good price   September 12, 2006

Its a good quality wind meter with a good price. I also like it because its more compact than other more expensive units and it seems more sensitive too. It does not have a protective cover tough, so keep it away from dirt and sand when not in use. Great for kitesurfing.

4 out of 5 stars pretty great, and a great gift.   December 16, 2004

I'm not sure how accurate this wind guage is, but since I work on a touring boat this is really nice to have a neck strap to hang from my neck for a fast read. Along with all the info it gives for wind speed and wind chill. Several people have seen mine and think they would make great gifts for those weather enthusiasts.
