5 out of 5 stars very useful   April 26, 2008

I used this pressure cooker twice in the first week I got it. The very first time was THE DAY I got it. It is quality! It breaks down an entire chicken in twenty minutes with such flavor. I used the breast of turkey recipe in the book that came with it and it was done to completion very quickly also. All of the other dishes for my March Thanksgiving meal were still cooking long after that turkey breast was done. I'll start the turkey last next time.
To think of the saved energy of a low setting on the top of the stove for twenty minutes compared to the couple hours of roasting in the oven. To me that's great, considering energy costs are on the rise.
The last one I had was smaller and the lid eventually fell apart (differant brand). I can tell this one is going to be around for a long time.
I like that I'll be able to do a little bit of pressure canning in this bigger one too. I couldn't in my old one. Water bath canning was what I was limited to before and have wanted to pressure can small jars of produce that needed to be, but one of those huge pressure canners, my mom used, is just too big for my needs.
I'm considering buying another for a friend who's wedding is coming up soon. If you want flavorful, home-cooked food, fast this has far better flavor and texture than something a microwave could do. Thanks so much.

5 out of 5 stars Great for a whole lot of things!   April 25, 2008

I got this pressure cooker from Amazon and I am very pleased with it, I have cooked, beans, garbanzos, chicken with vegetables, soup and everything turns out great very quickly, the only thing that didn't work was the broccoli, even in just 3 minutes it was way overcooked so for softer vegetables I don't recommend using it as a pressure cooker but you can steam them just fine (leaving the little weight off) In general highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Good option for the price   April 25, 2008

For me is excellent. I used and works quick and easy. I just recommend. Is not heavy. I was considering a expensive brand to buy, but know I think that was the best option, When cook beans do not over fill with them as I did. The steam will flow quick and release from the valve, but nothing to worry just use correctly and don't pass the limit.

I had a Presto pressure cooker for many, many years and I thought it was a great pot. When I needed to replace it, I looked at a lot of cookers, all makes and prices. This Presto cooker is made well and priced right and you don't have to read a book on how and how not to use it.

5 out of 5 stars Awesome   April 18, 2008
My daughter and her husband had been wanting a pressure cooker for some time after borrowing one from a friend. I had been pricing this same one on different web sites. They were always higher in price. And with free super saver shipping it was a no brainer. I received it within 2 days of ordering it. They love it and use it all time. It cooks so fast, they can cook a pot roast in less than a hour, meat comes out tender everytime. Thanks Amazon! Another great purchase. Cindy from Gurnee
