We went on a 12 hour trip to California and when we got there part of the bag was ripped. I think we may have tightened the strap to much (it ripped right next to the strap). It did work fine for all of our trip (almost 2 weeks) and when I got home I called amazon and complained. They sent me a new one overnight and didn't question anything. I am happy with it now and if it breaks again I will call again.

Took this on a 1200 mile trip to the beach and back. We didn't hit any rain on the trip, so can't comment on its waterproof capabilities. Had no trouble securing the pak to the roof racks of the minivan. Would recommend using for soft-sided items only--I could see signs of wear from a cardboard box I had packed inside.

We purchased this item for a 98 Hyundai Santa Fe. Thought the product was a perfect fit. We have 2 small children (3 years and 9 months) and anyone with a Santa Fe knows there isn't much room back there. By time we were done packing for a 5 day trip (stroller, booster seat etc included) we hardly had anything in the back of the car. I would definately recommend this product to anyone. There was a little flapping but for us hardly noticeable.
Great bang for the buck. August 12, 2008
This product is quite good for the price. We took it on a 1700 mile round trip through a little bit of rain and had no problems at all with the unit. I didn't give it five stars because I think the straps used to hold it down could be designed a bit better to deal with the excess strap. We ended up using a bit of duct tape to tape up the excess in the straps so they wouldn't blow all over the place. Other than that the product works as advertised. Would recommend.
best Value for a soft car top carrier August 11, 2008
I went by reviews on this product strictly. I have never owned one and wanted a hard top, but they cost too much! This was the best space saver!The best car top carrier! drove 12 hours from Missouri to Gulf shores in Alabama without no noise, (tie straps down) no leaks, NO PROBLEM! i wish I had bought this item long ago. Truly worth it and the price was low, but the product was of high quality.
