GolfLogix GPS OK But Not Great September 7, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Bought this unit because it seemed to offer the basic info needed at a reasonable price compared to SkyCaddie. Had trouble with cable connection to PC to download course info. Poor design of cable end that plugs into the unit. Unit has frozen up on me a few times meaning I've had to reload the software and course. Customer service is pretty good. Very reasonable in terms of yearly subscription to get courses -- $30/yr, unlimited courses. Unit holds 20 courses vs. SkyCaddie's 10 limit. On the course the unit seems to advance to show the immediate hazrds but I've have not figured out how to advance it beyond those hazards to the next set say around the green. It will do this automatically but only after you pass the first hazards. The buttons to page thru the courses and the buttons to scroll through the holes seem sluggish. Like I said, not a bad unit for the price, but not great.
GolfLogix GPS by Garmin (2008 Model) September 6, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I recently purchased the GolfLogix GPS by Garmin (2008 Model). I've very pleased with my choice. I had reviewed about everyone on the market because I travel a lot and needed something that worked everywhere. It's just what I was looking for. It's so easy to download unlimited courses at 30 bucks a year. Shock proof, water proof and inexpensive.
Down side: Tough on batteries. Always carry extras onto the course.
everything I expected September 2, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I shopped around a lot and and chose the GolfLogic and I'm glad I did. It works exactly as described. Everyone says that they don't need the yardage I yell out and then by the end of the round they won't hit the ball until I've confirmed the yardage. I take it everytime I go.

I am an avid golfer who uses this GPS a great deal. It started out working fine and then problems began. The main issue was that it would lock up and become useless. Also, the program for my home golf course was not updated and it wasn't showing relevant features. I had to request an update which was completed quickly. After talking to the company they were aware of the locking up issue and told me that a software upgrade was planned for Sept. 1 which would eliminate the problem. They should have been up front about this on their web site, in my opinion. In addition, the unit shuts off unexpectedly for unknown reasons (it has happened when bumped but is supposed to be shock resistant). I am waiting for the software upgrade to fix the lock up issue but if problems persist I will ask for a new unit. The unit is easy to use and I do like the GPS features that come with it and it has helped my game.
Great Product August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received the Golflogix GPS as a birthday gift. It's the only one I've owned so I can't compare it to others, but as far as ease of use, convenience, reliability and accuracy it's great. As I check the yardage markers to the gps, they're extremely close, and if not, I'll base my club selection on the gps which gets me to where I want to be (If I hit it right). With over 21,000 courses available to download immediately, the odds are good that your favorites will already be mapped. If not, you can e-mail a request to map a course and have it I think within a couple of weeks. It's real easy to read, even in bright sunshine. All my golf buddies love it too. Bad thing is I'm now the official yardage marker! I can usually get 4-5 rounds with one set of batteries, and keep a set of rechargeable batteries with me. It locked up on me once, took it home to reset it on the computer and it's been fine since. Didn't seem like that big a deal, everything computerized has a glitch now and then. If you like to ride, the stand that mounts on the cart is a real handy accessory. In my opinion, if you're looking for a golf gps, you won't be sorry you got this one.
