5 out of 5 stars Golflogix GPS (2008 model)   June 8, 2008
This product works perfectly! I bought it because it's made by Garmin. I own two Garmin units for my boat and one for my car. All have been excellent. The only problem I had with the GolfLogix unit was self induced--I kept misspelling Golflogix by putting a "c" at the end. That misspelling kept misdirecting me to the wrong web site. Once I spelled it right downloading the software and the courses was one of the easiest things I've ever done on the computer.
On the course the unit works great. No need to point or push buttons. It just gives you precise yardage to front, center and back of greens as well as yardage to traps, yardage to clear traps & hazards, etc.

4 out of 5 stars Shaved 10 points off my score!   June 5, 2008

We play at a lot of different courses in addition to our own. This product helps enormously when playing new course. The Golflogix is simple to load, easy to read and very accurate. It is most helpful on the approach distance. Only shows distance to bunkers, water on par 5s but have not found this to be a drawback. Short battery life is only complaint - but you can always carry extra batteries. In short, my friends paid over $400 for their gps with no obvious advantage, unless you are a scratch golfer - this should be all you need to shave those extra points off your round of 100!!

5 out of 5 stars GPS-8 works like a charm !   June 5, 2008
I'm very pleased with my GPS-8. It's very easy to use, no buttons or options to scroll through. You do have the option of scrolling back to previous view or forward to next if you want to but under normal conditions just walk/ride and it changes the distance and views as you move. It also shows distances to hazards such as bunkers or carry over water etc. I haven't tried the shot distance feature yet but will the next time out. Downloading the desktop management software was easy and they have all courses in my area and holds 20 courses at a time so you don't have to reload often unless you are visiting a new area.

3 out of 5 stars customer service   June 4, 2008

I enjoyed the gps for about 2 weeks. After taking out the batteries to charge them, the spring broke off, which makes this item useless. E-mailed the company, and they said someone would get intouch soon. After a few more days, e-mailed them again - no response. Called and could only leave a message. I figured since this is a garmin product there would be a speedy response, but I guess I was wrong. I am anxous to use this again since it worked so well. I'll see how soon I get this taken care of.

2 out of 5 stars Works great BUT   June 2, 2008

The GPS system is probably the fastest and most accurate I have used - 2 Skycaddies - BUT there were essentially no hazard distances on the first three courses I played. If you don't mind hitting in the water, it's probably the unit for you.
