5 out of 5 stars good watch-   October 18, 2008
Better than any watch I have used.
used it for 2 months now?
Overall consider this watch the best i had.

4 out of 5 stars Great watch   October 16, 2008
A little confusing to set up at first, despite the seemingly detailed instructions, but now that I've figured it out, it does everything I expected. I love the ability to change my time zone as I travel and watch the hands spin around to the new time. Resyncs daily to the broadcast time, even though I'm near the maximum 2000 miles away from Colorado. Glass face seems very scratch-resistant. Only thing I wish is that it had an electroluminescent backlight instead of glowing hands, because the hands are very hard to see in the dark without my glasses, and the digital display is hard to read in the dark with the nightlight, even with glasses.

4 out of 5 stars Nice watch   October 12, 2008
Nice looking watch. Clean face. Comfortable band. Thicker than expected.

Easy to read in daylight. Backlight only lights up the LCD window, though, not the entire face. Hands and numbers are luminescent, but they are only easy to see in the dark for a limited time after the lights go out.

Watch has no knob. Time is set electronically by selecting the appropriate time zone and synchronizing with radio broadcast; synchronization is automatic and works fine in Ohio. Time can also be set using the buttons by putting in hand-set mode. Caracas timezone is not correct (Greenwich+5:30).

I'm a long-time Timex owner, so have found the button functions not as intuitive.

Overall, I'm quite pleased.

5 out of 5 stars What more do you possibly want from a watch?   October 9, 2008

This is my third Casio Waveceptor, so far all with resin-type belt. I admit that the first two were not necessarily perfect. The first one's upper right button ended up failing in turning illumination on. I believe, through that 'loose button', some moisture got in as I started seeing condensation behind the crystal in the middle. The watch, in time-keeping department, still synchronizes and works perfectly (3 years old?). The second one, the resin belt snapped somewhere in the middle after a year of having on my wrist 24/7 - I never take my watch off. After I ordered this WVA430J, I realized I could have gotten a genuine Casio belt on Internet, but it would have cost me $25 or so with shipping. In either case of my first two, the cost of entire watch being somewhere around $40 or under, it was well worth.

Now this WVA430J that I got about 15 days ago, with solar power and 10-bar water-proof, there's nothing more I would want from a watch at this reasonable price. I travel to Far East, Mexico, and South America, precise time-keeping is really appreciated when needing to change the time zone. Last week, I was in Bogota, Colombia. I was shocked that this watch synchronized with the radio signal from Colorado which is about 3,200 miles away.

Hats off to Casio keeping coming up with better products continuously.

2 out of 5 stars Soft Crystal   October 7, 2008

I ordered this watch looking for a utilitarian everyday dependable watch. It was very complicated to set up and the first day I wore it the crystal scratched. I would not recommend this watch to anyone.
