5 out of 5 stars Bright light with perfect size and weight   March 16, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

We have two of these flashlights, and keep one in each car.
The size fits comfortably in the hand plus it's a little shorter than the 2 D cell Maglite. The weight is also a very nice feature, in that it you could hold it in one position much longer than you could a flashlight that might be just a few ounces more in weight(say a 2 or 3 D cell Maglite).

The beam of light it produces is very good for a 2 C cell battery powered flashlight. In fact the beam of light that it puts out isn't that far from the 2 D cell Maglite, and with the LED upgrade there shouldn't be any difference between it and a 2 D LED Maglite. But I'm just guessing here since they would both 3 watt LED flashlights.

Anyway it really is a great flashlight and believe that they'll out last me;)

5 out of 5 stars Easy to carry and very bright flashlight   March 8, 2008

I recently bought one of the 3 C Cell Mag-lites and I love it. It feels great in your hand, and has a light beam that is much better than my 2 D incandescent Cell Maglite, and almost as bright as my 3 D incandescent Mag.

I recently bought a 3 C/D LED Maglite upgrade, and really love it. It now produces about the same beam of light as my 3 D Cell LED Maglite, and is brighter than my 2 D cell LED Mag.

I love the way this flashlight feels in my hands. It is much lighter and is easier to carry than any of my D cell flashlights, and as I've said with the LED upgrade the beam of light is outstanding.

I guess Maglite decided not to make a 3 C cell LED flashlight because it would take away from the two D and 3 D Cell LED Maglites, but I sure wish they had. Because this and the 2 C Cell flashlights with the LED upgrade are simply outstanding, and much easier to carry and stow.

But even without the LED upgrade this is a great flashlight that really surprised me on it's weight, size, and with the very bright light that it produces. In fact it is almost as bright as a 3 D cell incandescent Maglite flashlight, and brighter than the 2 D with or without the LED upgrade, and as I mentioned this flashlight has an outstanding weight and circumference making it easy to carry while hiking or any other circumstance where you might need to carry a flashlight at night for awhile, or to keep it in your car or truck.

Again my wife loves hers, and I just bought one for myself and now we have the LED upgrades for both, and believe they'll last forever, besides producing a blinding amount of light with or without the LED upgrade.

But I would highly recommend upgrading this flashlight with the Mag LED upgrade kit. The batteries will last at least twice as long, and the beam is 100% brighter than the incandescent version.

5 out of 5 stars great flashlight   February 17, 2008
Sturdy, bright and well built. Maglight has an eye for quality. the 3C cell is a nice size.

5 out of 5 stars Great Flashlight   January 13, 2008
This is a nice, sturdy, flashlight in a metal casing. It has a nice bright beam and fits easily into a drawer. It is a definite improvement over the cheap plastic flashlight that I had. Amazon has it at a good price. I recommend.

5 out of 5 stars Mag to the rescue!   January 8, 2008

Three of these were wrapped under the Christmas tree for my husband when the power went out for a few hours. My husband began looking for flashlights, but was disappointed that we never have any decent ones around the house. I handed him an early present, and as he unwrapped it he announced, "Finally! A good flashlight." It's super bright and the beam can be adjusted to suit your needs. C batteries make the flashlight nice and slim...easy to hold.
