5 out of 5 stars bowflex treadmill series 7   March 25, 2008
This arrived within just a couple weeks, perfect condition. It is excellent and easy to use. One problem that is minor is that the hand grip pulse reading does not work at all. Once out of every 20 times it might work briefly. The polar strap on pulse transmitter works excellent though. The fan is rather stupid and unnecessary, but you don't have to turn it on. The programs are good to very good, with the hill one being my favorite. Another minor bad thing is that you can't pause the workout and resume it. If you push pause, it will not restart where you left off, you have to turn it off and start all over. Good value.

The Bowflex Series 7 Treadmill is everything I expected it to be. I am very pleased with its performance and it is easily the equivalent of the best treadmills I have used in professional Helalth Spas. My only complaint is with the Amazon claim of free shipping. Be aware that one gets free shipping only if one manually selects it as part of the ordering process; i.e., don not "oneclick" order this item.

4 out of 5 stars So far so good!   February 26, 2008
We have only had this treadmill for a month, but so far so good. It's getting used everyday. The longer deck is great. It is so much quieter than our old one. The price ($1389)was awesome. Saw the same treadmill for $400-$600 more at other places. And we got free shipping! I can only hope that it and the motor hold up to the usual wear and tear. If you want to do a program, or enter your weight, you have to also set the time for how long you want to run. I would prefer to start from 0:00 and see how long I can go. Minor irritation.

When shopping around for treadmills I was really just looking for a well rated, well built machine with a large enough deck for me (6'2) to run on comfortably. The bowflex series 7 was listed #1 on consumer reports when I purchased mine two months ago and I have been extremely happy with it. It is packaged by Nautilus and comes with all tools and hardware necessary for assembly. Assembly essentially means attaching the arms and upper console, nothing mechanical, and takes approximately an hour. Becuase it is around 300lbs, Amazon ships via specialty freight carriers which means that they often cannot bring it into the home (i.e. they will help you get it to a specified area (garage, breezway, etc) but you may need to do the rest). It is packaged quite well, such that a friend and I were able to get it moved into the house as one unit without taking any parts out of the box. We were able to get it in place with just the two of us, but if I had to do it over I would suggest using a dolly and a couple extra hands.

Mechanically, this machine is wonderful. It is quiet, easy to use, and comes with a more powerful motor than most of the other folding treadmills out there. The running surface is 60" and more than enough for anyone with long strides to feel comfortable on. It's folded height is about 66" and fairly easy to move around the room once in place. It feels solid to run on, yet provides enough cushion to be easy on the knees. The automatic incline function works perfectly.

They only criticisms that I have are that the fan isn't really all that powerful, and the display window is relatively small. Bowflex may have done better to simply remove the fan, and have a much larger display in it's place. I would have liked a screen large enough to display everything at once (i.e. program info, calories burned, heart rate etc.) rather than having to cycle through them. At any rate, neither of these are critical to any primary function of the machine and to that end, I would give it 5 out of 5; My wife and I are very happy with the purchase.

4 out of 5 stars Below average customer service but great product...   February 19, 2008

I received my 7 series on 1/7/2008 and the fan was completely broken off. After following the instructions by Nautilus (Bowflex) customer service I have still yet to receive (2/19/2008) even though on several occasions they have told me I should have the replacement in a week. Well after several phone calls since then and many frustrations I have still yet to find out when I will receive the replacement. The product itself is a good machine that does what it was meant to do. It is heavy but two people should be able to get the set up done.

2/25/2008 Update: Finally resolved the broken fan problem. I had to disassemble the entire console and replace the broken fan, took about 30 minutes. I should not even had bothered getting the replacement fan because it is absolutely useless.
