5 out of 5 stars Great little gadget!   November 2, 2008

This little timer is the best! It's my favorite purchase of the year! I used to manually time my interval workouts, which was a huge pain, but this little gadget makes life a whole lot easier! And my workouts, if you can believe it, don't seem quite as long now that my eyes aren't glued to the clock. How can you beat that?? (It would make an awesome stocking stuffer for someone wanting to jump-start an exercise program come Jan 1!) Also, the programming is so intuitive, that it's actually fun to do! I'm tired of getting expensive watches, etc... and forgetting how to program them if I don't do it every single day. I'm keeping the directions for the Gymboss, but I doubt I'll ever have to refer to them again! Thanks, Gymboss, for keeping life simple! :)

4 out of 5 stars Perfectly Simple, but a little fragile   October 29, 2008
The timer itself (ie, the software) is perfectly simple. It does exactly what I expect and nothing else to distract or complicate things. My only criticism is that the hardware is a little chintzy feeling. It would be nice if it were a more solidly constructed device, especially considering that I take it to the gym around heavy weights and out on running trails and hills.

5 out of 5 stars Greatest invention since running shoes   October 23, 2008

What's the fastest way to increase fitness? Interval training! What's the easiest way to do interval training? Gymboss! This thing is an absolute gem. I do several types of interval training: run-walk-run, jog-sprint-jog, and for other exercises, 20 seconds on, 10 seconds off. Now instead of looking at my watch, I can focus on the activity. High and low beep levels and vibrate make it easy to know when time is up regardless of ambient noise. Read the instructions carefully, try it a few times, and you're on your way. The only thing I wish for is a way to pause the timing without starting over. Maybe it's there but I haven't found it yet. And the price is right. They'll sell one of these to every athlete in the world, and we'll all improve.

5 out of 5 stars Take your workouts to a new level   October 21, 2008

The Gymboss does everything it promises at an affordable price. Before getting the Gymboss I would lose track of my rest intervals (if looking at a second hand in the gym), estimate the time, or waste time resetting my wristwatch timer. I especially like being able to set a specific number of work and rest intervals with a different value for the work and rest interval. This allows me to concentrate on my effort rather than worrying about my timing. If you want to get serious about your strength and conditioning training, I highly recommend it.

4 out of 5 stars Good workout Tool   October 21, 2008

I use this timer for interval workouts when jumping rope, rowing, and cycling. It can be set to repeat a work/rest pattern and the beep sound can be varied to suite conditions. It's also useful when doing core exercises such as the plank, where i do 60 seconds then switch to a different position. Overall, it's a good workout tool.
