5 out of 5 stars Great gadget   July 13, 2008
I love the bungee cord card case. It is perfect for the weekend. It holds my drivers license, credit cards and cash. Its great for work as an ID holder. My job does not permit me to wear my work ID in public places, so when I go out for lunch I no longer have to take off my ID.

I have had no problem with this card holder. It is functional and sturdy. The only issue I have with it is the size. It is some what bigger than the average card holder.

5 out of 5 stars Rugged and functional   June 26, 2008
I bought mine years and years ago to replace my big bulky wallet. Mine was actually already damaged when I bought it, but it was still another three years before anything else broke. I've taken it in caves, dropped it on innumerable floors, sat on it, and the only thing that actually damaged it was getting stuck under the leg of a chair which I then sat on. I think you could pretty much run it over with a car and be fine.

Mine is pretty old and busted, but it still works fine- the elastic is still tight enough to keep it shut properly. I'm on the verge of replacing it, but only because it's picked up an unfortunate squeak somewhere along the way. Definitely more than worth the money.

5 out of 5 stars I should be getting paid for the following commercial - but I'm not!!   May 12, 2008
My then-4-year-old son found this bungee case in the checkout aisle at Linens 'n Things. I absently looked at it, then got to thinking it would make a pretty good debit-card/license case. I played with it for a second, then picked up three, each in a different color.

It is not overstating to say that this is one of my favorite purchases ever. It is the perfect wallet for me, as I use a debit card for almost all purchases, but am sick of all the cards that come with every health insurance policy, club membership and store discount program!! I surely have 30+ small plastic cards, and want to be able to find them without digging through all of them for the ones I want. So, I divided them according to frequency of use.

I keep the most frequently-used cards in the green case (debit card, license, library card, health club ID, etc.). The red one holds health cards and museum memberships, and stays in my van for easy access. The purple one was confiscated by my son, but my plan for it was to stash gift cards and return credits in it, to be found easily when I want to use them.

And I can find this case (which I now call my 'wallet') easily. Its heft makes it easy to locate in a purse, but I can stick it in my pocket when I don't want to lug a purse around. It is so much easier to locate a card and retrieve it for use than in any other wallet I've ever used. I should note that I have rarely stashed cash in the case - though it can be done with a few bills folded neatly. Folded bills are bulky, and are not as easy to retrieve as the cards, which just slide right out.

Cashiers always comment on my wallet, and then listen to my brief commercial. I was panicked when I couldn't find it at LNT again, so I plan to stock up while here at Amazon. I have now used this case as a wallet for 2+ years, and I still love it. I am reordering because my 1 year old loves to snap the top, which has stretched the bungee. (This is a workout on a thin bungee - can't attribute it to poor quality. She will not be allowed to snap mom's new cases!) I was able to tie a knot and can still use it fine.

As for previous comments regarding looks - it looks just like the picture here at Amazon, and you can reasonably judge from the picture whether you will like it or not. If it looks cheap, well, the cost is about $5, so yeah, it's cheap. But it is not poorly made; 2 years of daily debit card retrieval should testify to that. I'm looking at the case now, and scuffing on the cloudy plastic doesn't show up easily. More scuffs show on the aluminum part, but I only notice that when tilting it against the light to try to see scuffs!

This case is not haute couture. Practicality is rarely an attribute of high fashion. This, dear reader, is practicality in its essence. But the case does have a neat, tidy, mod look to it. I'm stocking up. Consider how you use your cards - if your frustration with plastic cards matches my above description, this is your card case.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent Product!   May 2, 2008
I got one of these as a gift about 4 years ago. I work in EMS and going to a scene of a car accident or a fire I am glad I have it. No melting, no worrying about things being crushed or lost. I even went to 6 flags and went to the water park and left it in my poket of my shorts it got soaking wet without any issues. If I had a regular wallet it would have been ruined. I love mine and bought two to replace the one I have. (I bought two because it was cheaper with shipping and when the bungee finally wears out I have a new one all ready to go.)
I did find that if you stretch the bungee to it's max all the time it wears out faster and if you tap the prongs that hold the cover they will slide inside and you may not be able to get them back out. I find that if cards get stuck people tap it to get them out (like my husband) but other then that I love it!
