Very Effective for Strengthening Hands and Fingers April 25, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I ordered this about a month ago to strengthen my fingers for guitar playing and have used it constantly every day to every other day. Since then, I've seen a very noticable change.
I decided to get the heavy tension model as I haven't used these before but figured that I wouldn't have to keep upgrading if I needed to. I did wonder at first though, if it was too heavy. It was tough alright and I felt pretty sore after the first day. I used it for at least a couple hours and therefore don't recommend doing so because of this. I suggest slowly working up at shorter time periods. You can really feel it working your fingers, hands and forearms though which only confirms that it does what it sets out to do. I really wanted this for my ring and pinky fingers on my fret hand for guitar playing and am very satisfied with the results thus far. I'm getting faster, more accurate and my fingers are more responsive overall. I also notice increased hand strength and definition in my forarms which is a nice plus.
The GRIPMASTER is very well constructed. It's tough, rugged and very solid overall. The rubber grip pad is comfortable and has a nice contour to fit snugly between your thumb and index finger on either hand. The plastic finger tabs are indented and textured for grip and ease if use. Overall, a very well built product.
The GRIPMASTER has got to be about the easiest exercise you'll ever do. It's easy to pick up and use when watching t.v. or when on the computer. It's also small and compact enough to take anywhere you may want to use it. There is an excercise chart included which is helpful or you can feel free to make your own up as you go. It's a really good excercise with very minimal effort.
There are many purposes for wanting a device like this. I wanted it for my fingers for playing and am very satisfied so far with the results. It's getting easier to use and it's done everything I could've wanted it to and more. Whether your looking to for a good finger, hand or forearm workout, the GRIPMASTER is a great device that is sure to provide you with the results your looking for. Recommended.
GRIPMASTER RULES April 10, 2008 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
Gripmaster is the best thing to happen ever. I can now crush small children and kittens in the palm of my hand. Gripmaster has changed my life. When I'm stressed--Gripmaster. When I'm happy--Gripmaster. When I'm sad--Gripmaster. When I'm eating--Gripmaster. When I'm bleeding--Gripmaster.
Try and pry it out of my super-muscular hands, punk.
Gimmick, buy the toughest tension you can and it probably still won't be tough enough. April 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Honestly. I just let 3 common females close the "HEAVY TENSION" and they did it easy, my 40+ year old mom can close it multiple times no problem and she is about below average strength, IT IS WAY TOO EASY, BUY THE TOUGHEST ONE FIRST IF YOU WANT ONE. I did have a long review wrote but its deleted since i got 3 non-exercising people, that is a girl and 2 old women to close it easily multiple times. Also its made of "TOO MUCH PLASTIC", although i am surprised that it did not fall apart, still i think it would be good for building endurance, so its a 6 out of 10, they tried, and i think they pretty much failed. I think "Captains of Crush" would be better for brute force strength, but i have not tried one yet.
Great Product March 17, 2008 I received the red medium tension for Christmas. At first, my left hand had trouble with it when isolating my last two fingers. But after about four weeks of sporadic usage, it was relatively easy. So I graduated to the Heavy tension and am almost ready to move up to the extra heavy.
Great product. I feel that this has really helped me with my back workout, where my grip was limiting the effectiveness. Plus the extra hand strength comes in handy in everyday life.
Good Stuff March 6, 2008 I got the 7 pound (red) and 9 pound (black) gripmasters. They are good quality for the price, and they don't squeek, though, my red one has begun to click slightly. They are pretty useful grippers for finger strength, though I probably should have purchased a 11 pound or more model. I use these for general finger strength, and, as an artist, I find them useful for exercising a steady hand.
