All I wanted and more! May 5, 2008 The GolfLogix I purchased was all that I wanted from a golf GPS and more. The large print makes it ideal for golfers that have difficulty reading small print. It is simple to download the various golf courses and the price could not be beat. I like th idea of just using regular batteries rather that having to remember to recharge it after each use. Very happy with the information and accuracy my GolfLogix provides and suggest others to purchase this product.
Garmin scores again!! May 4, 2008 I ordered this unit on Wednesday at about 2 p.m. with overnight delivery. Got it about 9 a.m. on Thursday. WOW!!! Took the unit out of the box, downloaded the software, picked a local course that I wanted to play and loaded it into the unit. At 1 p.m. the same day I was standing at the first tee and the unit was showing me the distances to the bunkers in the fairway. During the round I checked the unit with several of the distances marked on the sprinkler heads. This unit was spot on every time. Within two yards of the courses distances.
I ordered this unit (2007 model) because of the price. There a few subtle differences between this and the 2008 model. 1) 2008 can hold 20 courses compared to 10 on the 2007 model. (don't think I need 20 courses right now) 2) 2008 model can show the distance of the last shot whereas the 2007 model won't. (I can still add and subtract so I don't really need that feature.
So, this unit is everything that I hoped it would be. I will certainly enjoy my rounds of golf more not having to look for yardage markers and sprinkler heads. I am currently working on a GPS golf ball that will automatically track to the center of the fairway and the pin placements on the greens. I will keep you posted when it is available.
Seriously, if you are in the market for a golf gps, go with a proven name: GARMIN. I have no complaints about mine.
Golflogix May 1, 2008 I thought you could download more than 10 courses at a time. Some of the courses that I play are not listed and I have asked for them to be mapped and downloaded to my list. The course that I play most is not mapped correctly. I am a little disappointed.
Disappointed, at best! April 30, 2008 I received my GPS last Thursday, April, 24th, I took it to the golf course on Fri and Sat. To date it has not found a satellite. I emailed Garmin re the problem on Fri, the 25th. I have received an automated answer that my email was received but, nothing else. Now, I get to pay to ship it back. I am very disappointed. In order to submit this, I had to give the product a star, but that's not true, as I don't know, I can't turn it on
Great value April 28, 2008 This GPS is very useful and easy to use. A clip is included so you can clip it on your bag. I have used another GPS that was much more complicated. My only problem with it is when you start on the back 9, it takes awhile to find hole 10 on the GPS. It shows yardage to hazards as well as to the front, center and back of the green. The numbers are large and easy to read. If you request a course is not on their list they will add it within a couple of days. The subscription cost is reasonable.
