I love this little box! It's portable and easy to use. Remote control is great and sound is excellent.

5 out of 5 stars Feature that Sold Me - iPod AV Out plug on back   March 25, 2008

I, too, bought this during the Gold Box deal and really like it! The main reason I purchased this model was that it has an ipod A/V out plug in the rear that allows me to connect it to my older 60-in. big screen TV. I have an 80GB 5th Generation (late 2006) model. My biggest challenge was finding the right cable for this ipod model; found success with the quality Belkin model: Belkin F8Z030-12-APL AV Cable for 4G/5G iPod. Together they give me a relatively good picture! This cable cost me almost as much as the super-discounted Gold Box price, but the pair is worth it!

The bonus for me is that this speaker system has a nice mono sound and is also portable with 8 batteries.

1 out of 5 stars Not worth it   March 23, 2008
You do get what you pay for, I guess. I purchased this speaker when Amazon offered it at the $19.99 Gold box price. I'm very glad I didn't pay more for it. The sound is quite muffled despite repeated adjustments to the treble and bass. It's fine for a travel stereo but the quality is sadly lacking. It is not worth more than what I paid for it certainly. If you're looking for a better quality, light weight speaker system for iPod, I would recommend the JBL On Tour Portable Speaker System ( Black )

4 out of 5 stars Great sound...great price   March 21, 2008

I bought this after seeing it on an Amazon Gold Box. I am very impressed at the sound for the size and price! Great bass (after stepping it up a couple notches with the remote) and excellent, clear sound. Controls and charges my iPod Touch (just use the dock adapter that came with the iPod, the ones included don't fit).

The only bad thing about it is that bass and treble adjustments can only be done using the remote control. Other than that, the unit provides excellent sound, easy of use and a quick set-up right out of the box!! Excellent purchase for the price!

3 out of 5 stars Good for $19.99   March 20, 2008
I bought this directly from Amazon as a Gold Box special. Like others have mentioned the sound is not that great (monaural). This is good @ the twenty bucks I spent but no more. Also one little stupid design flaw; if no signal is being sent to the unit it shuts off regardless if it's running on batteries or if it's plugged in. I verified this with the manufacturer. I use this as a computer speaker as well as with my ipod and it's dumb to have to turn it on each time I want to listen to a video clip or something.
