5 out of 5 stars Fantastic!   July 14, 2008
This thing is great!

It controls everything, easy to use, and won't break the bank.

Currently I am controlling the following

Direct TV-DVR
Onyko AV receiver
Sayno 2000 DVD/VHS combo
Sony 5 disc cd changer
Apple Macbook Pro

I was pleasantly surprised it worked on my DVD/VHS combo as other universal remotes I had owned didn't. But the biggest surprise was that it worked on my apple macbook pro. As I'm sure many of you know, macbook pro's don't come with a remote and apple charges you $30 for one.

The activities are really nice. It's kinda a pain when your leaving on vacation and you have to leave detailed instructions with the house sitter on how to turn everything on to watch TV. The 550 makes it a piece of cake, one button turns on all the necessary components and turns the TV to the correct channel.

Not too shabby for a $50 remote.

5 out of 5 stars Does Everything   July 14, 2008
This remote everything that its supposed to do and more. I have Four Components setup and i love it that I can turn on everything that needs to be turned for watching TV with one button. The Setup is on the computer but I don;t mind that so it is altogether a good product.

4 out of 5 stars Logitech Harmony a great product but..   July 13, 2008
Setting up the Harmony 550 to work all of my remote controlled electronic products was relatively easy, and everything seems to work. My only complaint is that the buttons are too small for my hands, and if I had to do it over, I would purchase the Harmony 670.

4 out of 5 stars Not bad for the money   July 13, 2008
Small buttons, but easy to use. This is my second Harmony 550 and it is well worth the sub 100 dollar price.

5 out of 5 stars ONE REMOTE TO RULE THEM ALL   July 12, 2008
This thing is great! I previously had to reach my arm over my coffee table to communicate with original remotes, but this remote seems to work just as well even without having a clear path to components. It has most of the buttons already built in that appear on original remotes, with the option to add buttons on the lcd screen. With some fine tuning this thing does everything I hoped it would. The software isn't as bad as some people say, unless you write that stuff and could do it better. The setup is pretty simple and walks you through it easily enough. I had to do it a few times to truly customize it the way I wanted it. My wife enjoys the ease and comfort of only having one remote as well. She found it easy to use despite being reluctant to give up the familiarity of our original remotes. I'm only sorry I didn't get it sooner.
