I had my 12 year old program it and it works fine. Mother is happy to be able to turn everything on with one button every time. Sometimes it takes a while for the volume control to respond but I think that our sound system needs to warm up before it can receive the signal. It turns everything off with one button too. Easy to read screen. I just used the batteries in it so far and it hasn't lost power yet.

I got this remote for Christmas and really enjoy it. The basic setup was very easy, but as I used the remote I found a few items I needed to change. In particular my receiver is older and I have to use a tape input for the TV. This is a monitor loop so I had to figure out how to program the remote to turn the loop off when leaving the TV. It all works great, but took a little fiddling and searching of the Harmony website.
This is such an improvement over the 5 or 6 remotes I had.

I got this remote for my father... He is about as untechnically inclined as they get. I was expecting a phonecall the day after Christmas begging me to help him get it setup. I wasn't surprised when the phone rang from him and he told me it was working great! WHAT?!? It's true, he had set this remote up himself using his laptop computer. If he can do it, just about anyone can. He said it works great, looks great, and does everything he needs it to. Can't ask for much more than that.

After using this remote for the past month, I have to say that I 'm extremely pleased with it. I no longer have to fumble around with 6 remotes to control my home theater system.
The configuration software is simple to use, which made setting up the remote a painless task that only took about 30 minutes or so.
The "activites" section of the setup is great. Programming one button to turn on 3 different components is a great feature that I find myself using quite a bit.
All in all, I would recommend this remote to anyone.
Works great for elderly parents January 17, 2007
Our elderly parents have had much trouble operating all of their remotes, so we bought them this remote for Christmas. We helped them setup the remote, and now they are able to easily operate all of their devices. Simple to use and works well.
