This remote took all of twenty minutes to program and works everything perfectly. Don't buy the more expensive remote, this one will do the job. This was truly an easy setup. I thought there had to be more but there wasn't.

I have had this remote for a couple of weeks now and I love this thing. It runs all my equipment and sets all the inputs(amazing). I thought the setup would be a little difficult based on some of the reviews that I read, but it was a piece of cake. I set it all up in no time. I thought for sure that it would have a problem with my off-air HD tuner but it worked right away. I love the fact that pushing one button turns everything on and sets all the inputs (man I love technology). I think the price could be cheaper but I'm not complaining. I love its cool looks and sleek design. So far its a great product.

I have had this remote for a month. Runs all of my gear (plasma TV, satellite receiver, DVD, AV receiver) NEARLY as well as separate remotes, and programming flexibility is excellent. Quality of buttons on the remote could be better. Also don't like numerals on the bottom, too close together.

I set up a mini-home theater with a panasonic digital projector, sony dvd and onkyo 7.1 amp/rec. Surprisingly, none of these remotes allowed use in the dark. The Harmony 550 works perfectly for what we wanted. Using the computer to program how I want to use it was intuitive and very simple. Programing allows for one-touch turn-on of all devices for a particular activity, like watching a movie via the projector or even playing x-box on the big screen. Of course all essential functions for a particular activity can be easily controlled with the Harmony....and especially in the dark. The promotional info is accurate so get the details from there. In short I am very pleased with this purchase.

Just to start off I am kind of a novice electronics wise, I know the basics, etc. I used the installation CD that came with the remote, plugged it into my USB port, and within 20 minutes my remote was set up to use my HDTV, my cable box, my DVD/home stereo, my VCR and my XBOX 360. The ease of setup was great, all you need is the model number of all your devices. The remote itself is nice looking, and the glow feature is very convenient at night... I just have a few complains that take my rating down to 3 stars:
- the device freezes on me regularly, which can be annoying. The only way I can unfreeze it is to take out one of the batteries. Let's say i do that while watching TV. Now, I have to command it to work while watching TV. I then have to hit that button and hide the remote behind me so it doesn't turn off my TV and cable box, thinking it is turning it on.
- the buttons are small and not always super responsive.
I don't know if the freezing is unique to my device, but I have found it annoying. Overall, this remote works great, however, and if not for the freezing I would probably give it 4 if not 5 stars.
