 Reasonably good portable speakers September 25, 2008
I got these when Amazon sold them for $40. The pros and cons are as follows:
Pros:
- Nice design, portable, 110/220 v hence good for overseas use too.
Cons:
- No bass to speak of.
- If you don't put in batteries the AC powered speakers require you to hit the volume button multiple times. There is no way to remember your last volume level settings.
- No on/off switch hence only option is to unplug the a/c cord to the unit.
Overall good for $40 or so, if you plan to spend more there are better alternatives around.
 Amazing portable speakers September 24, 2008
I have only had these speakers for a day now so I can't say anything about their durability but as far as sound goes I was impressed from the first moment I turned them on. These speakers offer very good sound quality for portable speakers and the volume is simply unbelievable. Seriously, you have to hear them to believe how much volume they produce on just 4 AAA batteries. I've been showing off to everyone on my dorm floor just how loud they can get. For portable speakers these are a little pricey (for a college student like myself, anyway) but so far I would say that they are worth every penny.
Good as a desktop speaker September 19, 2008
Nice little device...unfortunately the sound levels on my Rapsody mp3 are at a low sound level, this device won't be peeling paint off the wall for some crased metal head. Myself I prefer jazz and am currently studying piano, so I would have to say even though it is not extrememly loud the quality is like almost having a piano in the room. Great speaker for a remote or secondary localtion.

These little speakers are great! They have a much better sound than I expected. Good deal for the money! Small and portable, they fit very nicely into my computer bag. I'm very pleased with them.

I am a trainer with a financial institution and the CDs I traveled with kept wearing out and skipping. I bought an ipod and this JBL Speaker system to use in my classrooms. I couldn't be happier for the price. It's so compact it does not take up much space when I travel. I love it!!
