More than meets the eye September 17, 2008 It is good quality, however it is hard to put together without the appropriate tools and even then it is a hassle. That should be included in the information about the product. But the more important part is IT PUTS A SIGNIFICANT AMOUNT OF PRESSURE ON THE TOP OF YOUR DOOR FRAME. Make sure that the top of your door frame is very strong because this will place a lot of pressure on the door and makes cracking noises everytime I use it. This occurs on every door in my house and my colleages house.
Everlast Multi Function Chinning Bar September 16, 2008 The spec/measurement description stated a range, but nothing was adjustable. I took the center bar to a hardware store that was able to cut it 2" to my specification. After that, I've used this product daily. I'm satisfied with my purchase.
pullup bar review September 15, 2008 Works as avertised, The foam rips at the point that touches trim and the trim is dented on either side of my door. Its a great multi-use tool at a cheap price. This bar is worth the money.
thanks, kevin
Wish it would work in ALL door frames... September 7, 2008 Quick and easy assembly (NO MISSING PART!). Several different grips. Holds A LOT of weight and does it well. I would deffinatley reccommend this chinning bar. The biggest flaw in this product is that it can only be used in small door frames. :-( I wish they would sell extension peices, so that it could be used in any door. (Closets, regular house-hold doors, and industrial doors are all different widths.) I had a maintenance guy at work make me some custom extensions to mine so I can now use it on any door and I really like this product now.
Better than expected September 6, 2008 I was somewhat skeptical about buying this item after reading some of the more negative reviews, but I ended up taking a gamble. Boy, am I glad I did. At 6'1 and 225 lbs, this bar holds my weight just fine. The entire bar took about 5 minutes to assemble and about 10 seconds to put up in a doorway.
After reading about how some folks had the bar fall down on them, I'd probably recommend giving it a couple of test tugs and visually inspecing the seat on the opposite side of the door.
Well worth the money.
