5 out of 5 stars great product.   September 29, 2008
given me no problems at all. just made sure your doorway has space on both sides for the bar to stick out.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product, but was kind of hard to put together at the beg.   September 27, 2008
Like the product alot, but was hard putting together if you did not have a tool kit. The screws could not be tightened by hand and i had to wait a couple days to borrow it.

5 out of 5 stars Six People, All Satisfied   September 24, 2008
I live in a dorm room with seven (7) other students all aged 18-22. Five (5) of us use the pull-up bar regularly for our workouts and even the other three (3) guys enjoy using the pull-up bar for fun. It usually stays in my closet where it is out of the way and when we want to work out we set it up on a door frame and go at it.

We are all very satisfied because of the ease with which it is set up and taken down and put away. It is a strong bar and it has not slipped even once (which was a warning I got from multiple sources). Perhaps, that is because we have thick, metal door frames to prop the bar on.

But we all love this pull-up bar a LOT more than we love doing pull-ups. Seriously, though, this thing works.

3 out of 5 stars Despite Assembly Issues Pull-ups Rock!   September 21, 2008
I bought the Everlast bar in July. What sold me was the fact that I didn't need to screw it into the door frame. I previously bought the Gold's Gym verison, which required you to do so. I gave it away. I don't think my friend is in a rush to us that bar as well.

I just assembled the Everlast bar today. I was disappointed with the self-locking nuts as they don't go down far enough, which reduces the sturdiness of the handles. Everlast should have used the nuts and screws intended for the wooden strip for the whole thing. The metal tube rack that connects to the metal tube handle (or horse-shoe like handles) doesn't stay connected. I thought after the screws were in place that it would be fine but it wasn't. I think the item should be priced between $20-$25.

With such issues, I was scared that I couldn't use it to do pull-ups but I was wrong. It was very sturdy. I didn't have time to try the crunches in which the bar is behind your shoulders. I'm still skeptical that the handles will fail me for crunches and other floor exercises...

4 out of 5 stars Headache free setup   September 19, 2008
I'm a thin guy of average height. The good: Easy setup. Sturdy. 1 year warranty. Cheap. Good for doing push-ups. The Bad: The pads that protect the door frame will break and leave marks and the bar leaves a small dent. The sit-up exercise is worthless.
