4 out of 5 stars Not expensive and it gets the job done   October 14, 2008
This item is worth the few extra bucks to not have to take a metal band watch to some jewelry store to have it sized with this tool you can do all that your self and readjust as needed

5 out of 5 stars Very Easy To Use   October 3, 2008
I found this tool very simple to use and very straightforward. I was easily able to remove the pins holding the links in my watch.

Now this tool won't push the pin completely out, but it pushes it out about halfway so you can easily pull it out with your fingers, at least I could.

The two extra pins are nice as well, though I doubt it will anytime soon that I will be using them. I pushed it out wrong the first time and bent the pin but was able to bend it back into it's original position.

Overall this is a fantastic tool to remove the pins in your watch and is completely easy to use.

5 out of 5 stars A GREAT TOOL!   September 25, 2008
I was hesitant to attempt to remove the links in all five of my watches - because of the negative reviews. But, it didn't take long to catch on. The arrows and lining up the pins really are the keys to the whole procedure. (If a retired 70-year-old woman can figure this out, anyone can.) Watches are always too big for my wrist. With this tool the problem is solved. And, it paid for itself after the first watch band was shortened.

4 out of 5 stars Nice to have around, will pay for itself in the long run   August 26, 2008
Before I offer more detailed analysis, essentially this worked as advertised, and I've sized two watches perfectly with this. It's nice to have, and it's already paid for itself (the Watch Hospital in Boston does excellent work, but the cost per watch makes this product quite desirable).

Now to the less appealing points: the plastic structure does suggest cheap quality and workmanship. The height-adjusting knob didn't adjust the height at all - so that element was essentially useless. To adjust the height, I used thin shims to align the watch band with the removing-pin. This may be another element that could cause a pin break: poor alignment of the watch band height to the angle of the removing pin.

It doesn't take any great pressure to remove the pins from the watch band; a little finesse is in order here. You don't need a blacksmith's touch.

Ultimately, this is a decent little unit that should work fine for you - just be prepared to exercise a little patience and a light touch, and you'll be happy with the results.

5 out of 5 stars Great Product   August 12, 2008
I've been looking for a tool like this for years to adjust my watches. Very easy to use.
