Possibly the best out there! October 17, 2008 Excellent product, but a bit tricky to set up, but once you have it set it is VERY accurate!
Fun little toy, but arrives with dead battery October 15, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This heart monitor works well and gives you great feedback about how hard you are working so that you can tell if you are in the low aerobic, high aerobic, or anaerobic zone. It's really comfortable to wear. Note, however, if you are small, you may need to tuck the chest band up under your sports bra to get it to stay in place. I have no problem doing that.
My main complaint is that it arrives with a dead battery in the watch. I thought this was a fluke, and liked the monitor so much that I ordered a second one as a gift for someone else...but it ALSO arrived with a dead watch battery. You have to take the watch to a jeweler to get the battery replaced. It's a pain and annoying, but the monitor does seem to work great once you get it.
Oh, one other caveat - there does seem to be interference with our stairmaster. You can't keep the watch on your arm if you hold on near the stairmaster display. It won't read. You have to take it off and attach it somewhere away from the display. I believe it is some kind of electronic interference.
Highly recommend October 14, 2008 Great product! I wanted a simple, easy to use, inexpensive heartrate monitor. It is accurate, and perfect to keep my heart rate in the fat-burning zone, or in the aerobic zone, whichever I choose for my workout. I love the little alarm beep to tell me if I have dropped too low, or am going too high, without having to look at the watch all the time.
Pulse rate monitor October 13, 2008 I purchased this item to provide data on aerobic activity. I ride a bicycle for aerobics. The bicycle computers which offer a pulse monitor are much more expensive, and I prefer the bicycle computer I now have. While I cannot comment on longevity (I've only had it a couple of weeks), thusfar it has performed flawlessly. Last week I used my stationary bicycle instead of the my regular bicycle for a workout. I wore the Omron while using the stationary bicycle. The rates shown by the monitor on the bicycle and the Omron were within 1 or 2 beats. I am satisfied with the product.
Omicron October 10, 2008 Does excellent job of reporting heart rate. Includes watch and alarm for maximum and minimum rates. Simplicity plus makes it good for me
