I bought one to replace my aging Seiko, and love it. Good ol' Seiko Chronograph in the middle, and the bezel does regular non-flying multiplication and division in addition to the airplane-related calculations, though you wouldn't know it from reading the instructions. Here's how:
Turn the outer ring so that the number you want to multiply is opposite the 10 on the inner ring, and then find the number you're multiplying by on the inner ring and read the product from the outer ring opposite that.
Division is the reverse of multiplication -- line up the dividend on the outside ring with the divisor on the inside, and read the quotient opposite the inner 10.
The Seiko Flight Chronograph January 4, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I purchased this watch in November of 2007 and am extremely pleased! The quality is outstanding, and the value of this watch makes it a great purchase. The first thing I noticed when I opened the box was the amazing attention to detail Seiko executed in the design. It looks amazing and when I held it for the first time, I was very impressed with the weight. The bracelet is beautiful and there is a stark contrast between the mirror finish in the center of the links and the more subtle silver beside it.
The hardlex dial window magnifies the interior of the bezel, but also gives it a very nice depth. Everything about this watch looks amazing, and you can tell that the engineering is top notch. All of the text along the inside of the bezel is perfectly aligned, and even the slide rule moves around the perimeter with an expensive and slow paced friction.
I would recommend this watch to everyone. It looks like a watch that retails in the same tier as Rolex, Omega and Tag Heuer, but also functions in a way which justifies the price tag, and leaves you feeling satisfied.
I have had several people comment on the watch, saying things like, "that is a serious... watch" or "wow... nice watch!" My existence is not grounded in the material circumventing my wrist, but I do feel I should give you a fair and balanced review. I spent several weeks researching this watch and comparing it against Citizen, etc... but was extremely please in my final decision. I wanted an amazing watch that wouldn't cost me thousands of dollars that operates professionally and won't need a replacement for some time.
The warranty card that came with the watch wasn't filled out, so I am contacting the seller about that. I would also highly recommend buying a watch pin remover so that you can fit it to your wrist correctly, I purchased this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A7G45I which works like a charm, and is very easy to use.
The watch also came with several booklets with instructions that were very handy, detailing how to set the watch and use the slide rule.

Well this one has it all. I just need new glasses to read it. Some numbers are so small you need a magnifying glass to read them. But, half the reason for buying this was it's looks - which are great! Merry Christmas to numero uno!
