Very Good Video Player August 12, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I first purchased a Magnavox video player and found that the picture was not good enough to enjoy the movies. I read all the reviews on several different players and sent back the Magnavox. I have been so pleased with the Sony player. The picture is just wonderful. My eyes are not stained at all. I use earphones and the sound is very good. I find that I can watch at least 2 movies without recharging. I am very pleased with this and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is wanting a really good picture.
High Definition For Sure August 6, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The Sony DVP-FX820 is an excellent buy. I opened the box today and was in awe when seeing the playback quality. The picture is truly high definition (800 x 480 dot). Very sharp. The colors are rich and true. The sound is loud enough for all to hear in a living room. The only thing you have to be careful about is removing the disc. There is not much room under the disc when sliding your fingers in. The player cannot play Blu-ray discs, discs recorded in AVCHD format or HD DVDs. I played music CDs and they sound great. The included audio/video cables transferred the picture to my 32" Sony WEGA TV(CRT) with no problem. I am very pleased with this Sony product.
Excellant August 5, 2008 We have had this product for about a month now. It's been used on several trips for my 2 year old daughter. The picture is beautiful and the sound is very good, all in a small lightweight package. I definitely recommend it.
Sony DVP-FX820 Portable DVD Player August 4, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I recently purchased this portable DVD player for my 6 YO daughter. She loves it, as do I. The only issue we have with it is the position of the battery release catch. It is positioned where she routinely grabs or holds it, and the battery releases and falls to the floor. So far we haven't damaged anything or broken any toes. We have taped it so that this doesn't happen again. There isn't a reason that I see to ever take the battery off of the player, except for when the battery needs to be replaced. The battery life is great, and it is charged while attached to the player. Overall, a good portable player. The battery release issue is a inconvenience.
Awesome portable player August 2, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Just returned from a week long vacation with the portable player. Great picture. The sound isn't full range. No bass, but it is perfectly mid and highs for cars to cut through road noise. Sounds way better in the car than my laptop.
The 6 hours battery is rated with brightness at lowest, which is almost not viewable. Expect closer to 4 hours. I like how both the standard electrical and car power adapter are included.
I didn't do the car DVD holder. My kids like it on their lap then angle the screen way back
Only complaint- Haven't figured out how to turn on the player without using the remote control.
