Accurate and convenient October 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Here it is. You have found it. You are reading this review because you are looking for a good digital kitchen scale, you have been shopping around, checking your options...but here is the one you need.
A scale is necessary for any serious work in the kitchen, especially for baking when accuracy is essential. I looked all over for just the right one, in both its ability to hold decent weights, in accuracy and over-all design. This little fellow is absolutely perfect, and once I found it my search was over.
There are some that are a lot cooler looking, and if you never want to actually use it but just have a fancy decoration for your kitchen, you might want to try one of those glass-and-chrome numbers. There are some with a lot of extra features and whistles and bells that you will use once for fun and then never again. But for those who are actually doing some work in their kitchen, this functional little fellow has exactly what you need.
The "tare" feature lets you zero out the weight of the container for when you are measuring in bowls and such. It is compact, which is important if your kitchen isn't huge. Durable which means it is going to do its job for a long time. And accurate enough to measure sacks of flower or tiny weights of spice.
Giving it a second chance October 24, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My first scale pooped out on me after less then a month. The digital screen constantly read OVER. only on rare occasions would it let me weigh anything. I contacted Amazon, and a new one was sent to me within a week (just received yesterday). I am hoping this one will last longer. I loved it until it died! hoping that this was just a fluke and the second one will cure all my woes. Amazon is amazing though. Great customer service!
Perfect little gem October 16, 2008 I, too, have tested this little scale and it is accurate. I like the lightness for portability. I use it for weighing out dye stuffs for my artwork. Very convenient for weighing even the fabric after zeroing with the container. It's convenient for weighing small shipments also. I'm very happy with this little scale-- tucks away nicely.
Excellent and accurate compact digital scale October 16, 2008 I purchased this scale mainly to use for measuring two part RTV urethane rubber and various epoxies. It can be switched between ounces and grams plus it has a tare function. That way I can put the mixing container on the platform, zero the scale and then pour a certain amount of "Part A". I can then zero the scale again and add in the same amount of "Part B", etc. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this scale is more accurate than I had expected given it's low price. I think it would be tough to find a scale that would give a better value.
Ok but Cheap October 14, 2008 The first one I received came with a button that didn't work. Amazon took care of that in a jiffy. However, the product works just as described if it works at all. I am dissapointed in the quality, though. I know it's only $25, but it feels like it's worth $5. It's seriously completely made of plastic. All in all, it's ok.
