Choose a light color October 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Word to the wise: Dark colors show spit-up, so I highly recommend choosing a light color like "sand" or "sky." Wish I'd thought of this earlier...
Best baby item i've purchased yet! October 17, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My 2 month old and i use the moby wrap all the time! It's great because she loves to be held all the time (and what baby doesn't?), and in between the cramping arms and dirty dishes that were pilling in my sink, this wrap made it possible for this mom to have TWO HANDS AGAIN! Now she loves hanging out with mom during the day while cleaning the house and dancing to carrie underwood!
The Best baby carrier, worth the $$, worth the 1 min it takes to put it on.... October 13, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This wrap can benefit anyone who is willing to take the time to learn how to use it. Aside from the instruction manual it comes with, there are youtube videos and stores across the nation ready and willing to show you how to make it work for you. Once you have figured that out, it is a breeze. I initially thought it looked too complicated, but was proven wrong just by giving it a good try. I have tried several other baby carrying products (Snugli, Bjorn, ring slings, etc) and this outdoes them all. I can carry my baby longer and more comfortably with the Moby than with any other carrier. This is ultra convenient for me because this is baby #4 for me, so I put on my Moby before I leave the house and enjoy carrying my baby close while he sleeps or sometimes he faces out and enjoys the scenery. I even wore my Moby to Six Flags and the baby LOVED it, as did I. We were there for hours and aside from when I changed his diaper, fed him and the 1 time I wanted to ride a ride and let hubby stay with baby while I rode with my other kids, I wore him the entire day. He was comfy and so was I. That and we got tons of attention because of our Moby wrap. Most people just looking at it assume it is difficult to use because it does indeed look complicated. However just one time of being shown the "how to" would cure that.
Highly recommended October 11, 2008 The Moby Wrap was recommended to me by my friend with four kids, so I bought one for myself when our daughter was born. This purchase was a gift for a friend with a new baby. For me, the best quality is that it distributes the baby's weight over a greater area, causing less strain on my neck and shoulders. I am tall with a very small frame, so carrying her in my arms for more than a few minutes is painful, and she was only 6 lbs 2 oz. The Moby is also better for small babies vs a sling or front carrier -- I never worry about her neck support in the Moby. Our baby is very active, so she is not always in the mood to be so constrained. I improvise by placing her more upright and allowing her legs and above her shoulders to be out of the wrap, but then it isn't really hands-free since she can't fully support her head yet. It is still very helpful, though, since it still distributes the weight and leaves me with one hand free. The price seemed kind of high before I received it, for "just a long piece of fabric." But there is a LOT of fabric, and it is nice quality. Althought I use a sling and front carrier for some activities, I think the Moby is a must.
Disapointed October 7, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was very excited about this wrap. I have a 2 1/2 yr. old and I knew I was going to need both hands to be able to tend to my daughter w/o leaving my baby boy alone in the process. I also was taking a trip across the country for a family reunion when my son was only 1 month old and I figured this would be great while traveling through the airport, etc. Once you get the hang of it putting this on was pretty easy but I did practice several times at home first. Well let me rephrase - it's easy when you aren't in a hurry and you have plenty of room to manuver - when you are in an airport setting in a hurry with 2 small kids this thing is extremely frustrating. If you didn't take the time to get it perfect it was either very uncomfortable for me or my baby or it didn't feel secure enough so I was basically carrying him anyway until I got to a place where I could completely start over. Also it is very hot - I was traveling in August and every time I took it off I had a sweat outline from where it was on my clothes. I went back to using my snugli (backpack style carrier) which is much easier, once you have all the straps adjusted to where you want them all you have to do is put the baby in & snap 2 clips, which takes about 30-45 seconds. I do still use the wrap occasionally when I'm at home and I have the time & space to put my son in it, but for ease while I'm out and about I definitely use the other carrier.
