3 out of 5 stars Fair - Could be Better   January 5, 2007

Fair general purpose maps but for obvious reasons lacks detail. It would be difficult to provide highly detailed maps of every country in the world but I was hoping for something in the middle. I used this CD for a recent trip to Mongolia and it worked well enough but did not have certain ponds and rivers. Would be nice if they can team up with Google Earth to make maps.

4 out of 5 stars Good data for SE Asia   January 20, 2004

I used the database on my Garmin 76S in Thailand, Vietnam & Laos and found that the data was quite accurate. It even has many of the old Lao 'Lima Site' airfields!

3 out of 5 stars OK but no cigar   July 26, 2001

I bought this to use with my Garmin eMap. For the USA the detail level is the same as came preinstalled on the unit--major highways. I've used it in London, Cambridge, Paris, Tokyo and Munich. There isn't really enough detail to find your way around any of these cities but it is useful for e.g. finding your way from suburb to suburb. The River Cam wasn't very close to where the map had it so it helps to use one's eyes. The maps are dated. We are developing a site in the high Andes near San Pedro de Atacama for the ALMA telescope--the map of that region did not show the Jama Road from Calama to Salta Argentina, a major international route (admittedly less than a decade old--but paved!).

This software really help me enjoy my E-trex a whole lot more. Being able to make waypoints from my PC was very handy. A nice accessory.
