A LOT for less November 11, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
The price was right (very reasonable), the product is great, and the service was fast. It just doesn't get much better than that. AND - I messed up my order online and ended up ordering TWO instead of one. Amazon took care of my mess-up and they were very prompt about it. Thanks for the great service.
Windows for MAC November 10, 2008 I tried to use the word processor with MAC and got very frustrated. In my opinion, this was a must!
Just a basic user November 9, 2008 I am just a basic user. I'm new to word in general except for the few times I used it in high school. On November 5th, I bought my first ever Mac and I needed powerpoint/word for college. (On PC, I had always just used works for typing something up).
Set up was extremely easy. I'm not all that computer savvy.. especially Mac savvy so I was a little freaked out about the installation but it was unbelievably easy. I was very greatful. When I open word, the layout itself seems a lot different (harder) then the version at school but Im hoping that I can just tweak some settings or just figure it all out.
I don't know anything about excel or powerpoint so I can't review them.
I paid 149.99 for this at the Apple store. I don't mind because I needed it.. but what I do mind is that I am paying for 3 of them. I guess it would benefit people who own or plan on owning more than one Mac,, but I'm lucky to afford one. I was thinking about giving one to my friend if I can or something... I'd rather help someone out then have it just sitting here. I would have rather just been able to purchase one at a lower cost. I felt sorta suckered but its nothing I'm losing sleep over.
For the basic everyday user such as myself who needs it, I would buy it. I may not know my way around it all yet but the set up was a breeze and opening word to simply write up a paper is easy. Hopefully, once I understand and get to know the software, I will have the same feelings.
Just OK November 4, 2008 I bought this for my iMac so my kids could make power points for school. The school's ancient systems wouldn't support keynote. It's fine, and they can use it, but it just ain't as cool as keynote. Also, the school has an older edition of office so all the bells and whistles don't work. At least they can get them done at home.
Not quite what I expected... October 30, 2008 I learned Microsoft Word when the '07 version came out. I really liked the "ribbon" which this version does not have. It reminds me of an old version of Word and I find it very hard to find what I'm looking for without the ribbon. Otherwise, I like the fact that it's 100% compatible with PC's.
