 Great little DVD player June 18, 2008
I previously had a Samsung that was giving me fits. It skipped and occasionally would display a distorted image on the TV if the components were turned on the the "wrong" order.
The Sony DVD player, in contrast, works like a dream. It's small, sleek and reliable.

Easy and Great to Watch! June 16, 2008
I worried about hooking this DVD player up, but with the HDMI cable it was unbelievably easy to plug in to our fabulous 40" Sony Bravia HDTV! The picture is fabulous, the machine easy to operate, and now I'm wondering what took me so long to buy it! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.

We purchased the Sony DVP-NS700H/B to compliment our Samsung LCD on the advice of our son..as usual he was spot on.The Sony upscales the standard dvd's to near 1080i quality. I almost believe the sound from our receiver is better as well. Also, if you read the manual there any number of settings to create the picture size you desire, full screen, letterbox etc. Those manuals come in handy. I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again, possibly as a present.

Works great!
One note of caution: it comes with only analog video cable(s), probably because some buyers may not have a TV with HDMI.
To use the HDMI digital HD upscaling, you need to buy an HDMI cable. I bought the Velocity cable on Amazon for $10.
