oh well January 3, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
My Amazon purchased iPAQ 110 arrived quickly and in good shape as I'm used to from Amazon (though I'm wndering where in the world is my camera lens order, since 12-20 ???).
The unit is nice and small. The system and OS is quick and the expandable memory and SD based applicances will be nice. It synchronizes nicely and the OS accepted some much older WIN CE games and other programs I had. Nice screen colors and the portrait or landscape option is cool.
But, I'm having issues with the battery and its seeming to discharge when it's off. It doesn't seem to charge now unless it's plugged into the wall. Won't power up now from the usb port. Though it did when I first got it.
I had one exprience with HP tech support at some Indian call center. It was very dificult to understand the poor woman, and she dutifully tried to be helpful. Offering to call me in a week to check on how things were going. HP will only leave a ticket open for a week, so you need to stay on top of things, keep records and case numbers to refer to later if necessary.
I'll keep after them if the poor battery power and/ or discharging issue persists.
This unit is probably not ready for prime time.
Well, at least it's not a ROXIO/ Sonic product !!
Good for Price December 29, 2007 0 out of 6 found this review helpful
Too much problems to install the SW, I try it in 3 different PC's with XP and Vista and was so hard to make the outlook work since I had an installation error. Support is not enough from microsoft in the wepage, is for your own to figure out how to solve it. Regular performance, size and features for the price I paid for it.
Battery died in first month of operation December 27, 2007 3 out of 14 found this review helpful
The battery died in the first month of operation. Isn't there a warranty covering this? The battery does not recharge when plugged into the USB connection or the 115V wall connection. It worked very well the first month. When it worked the first month, I loved it.

If you lose the stylus, as I did, you're out of luck. According to HP, none are available!
You're stuck!
How stupid of HP. I will never buy another of their PDAs.
Probably the best ipaq yet December 11, 2007 72 out of 75 found this review helpful
I have owned several Pocket PCs, including a few earlier versions of the iPaq. Of the ones I have tried, this is probably the best, though its not a great leap forward. Having WiFi, Bluetooth, SDHC support (previous versions didn't support the new higher capacity cards that this one does - I have an 8Gb SD card in mine), a standard USB connection (previous iPaqs I owned use a proprietary USB connector) a relatively fast processor, the latest version of Windows Mobile all whilst retaining a relatively small form factor is a strong combination. Whilst many will opt for a Pocket PC phone (as my last Windows Mobile device was), having a seperate PDA from your phone has advantages for some e.g. if you are obliged to use a particular mobile phone for work (as I am) then you don't need the phone features on your PDA. With this device I can keep all of my personal contacts seperate from the business contacts on my phone and use the bluetooth feature to get my phone (a Blackberry Pearl) to dial any number I select on my iPaq. I have read other reviews on Amazon and can't say I have experienced any of the problems described. The screen on my iPaq works fine (no odd colours displayed) and windows media player has not yet crashed on my once (and I have listened to quite a lot of music and watched video on it). Overall, not a stunning leap forward but hard to find fault with it.
